Come join the fast-paced, technical Transmission Components Team! We are responsible for providing exciting customer experience vehicles like the Mustang, Bronco, F150, Raptor, and Super Duty product lines!

We are looking for a transmission and driveline component design and release engineer for our bearing/bushing team in Product Development (BEV/HYBRID/ICE). As a part of our components team, you will be directly responsible for both the future model year development as well as the current model year improvements of Ford Motor Company's 10R and Hybrid Transmission Systems. The primary job function will be component development, optimization, and issue resolution for the current production and future model projects.  We are looking for a motivated engineer who is capable of immediate participation and design ownership of component responsibilities.  We need someone with a persistent engineering curiosity to learn and solve complex problems.

BS in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree Recent college grads included Proven track record of delivering complex projects Self-Starter capable of establishing processes and delivering results  Team player able to work well across functions Strong oral and written communications skills, with ability to present to higher levels of management Ability/willingness to learn about new technology Must be in Livonia Michigan 3 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs.

Even better, you may have...

Master's degree in Engineering. Emotor, Hybrid, FHEV/PHEV experience Product design/release experience Approved to travel globally (passport) Solid knowledge of Ford GPDS and program management process, including key delivery dates along with the ability to develop plans for global markets

What you'll do…

Design and release bearings and bushing component designs for new axle and transmission programs (ICE, Hybrid, and BEV) Verify sizing and duty cycle usage for new programs Support market testing & sourcing w/ purchasing team Responsible for supporting program deliverables Review and Interpret part layouts and stack analysis Lead Development of robustness improvement actions for existing in-production axle and transmission programs (ICE, Hybrid, and BEV) Verify sizing, capability, and upgrade requirements Responsible for supporting program deliverables Identify and resolve quality/warranty issues and develop TVM (cost save) actions for bearings and bushings Develop relationships with suppliers, system’s engineers, and interfacing component teams Lead suppliers through validation of components (testing) Lead failure mode root cause investigations Complete design assessments including FMA documentation, design rules, print updates, etc. Must be in Livonia Michigan 3 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs
