The Behavior Management Assistant (BMA) is assigned a caseload of consumers that are receiving services in our Behavioral Services Program.

Job summary:
Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Behavior Management Assistant implements the behavioral intervention plan established for consumers assigned to their caseload. Performance of the typical responsibilities and duties requires the ability to provide direction concerning service delivery, the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, provide consumer centered behavioral management services and model and teach behavioral management techniques, involving job-related matters that are of moderate to unusual complexity.

Essential Job Functions:
Implement behavioral intervention plans for consumers assigned to their caseload by teaching techniques and transferring of skills to consumers and their family members/caregivers.Gather data utilizing scatter plot and ABC Data Sheet. Incorporate the information gathered into the consumer’s Behavioral Intervention Plan in collaboration with the Behaviorist and continue to use the tools to continue to monitor the consumer’s progress towards the Behavioral Intervention Plan objectives.Work collaboratively with Program Manager, Behaviorist, regional center, consumer, and consumer’s family/caregivers in the development and implementation of the consumer’s behavioral intervention planProvide regular updates to the Behaviorist and Program Manager on the status of the consumer’s progress to the consumer’s behavioral intervention plan objectives and make modifications to the behavioral intervention plan as needed so it continues to meet the consumer’s needs and preferences.Apply confidentiality regulations and practices to everyday tasks.Qualifications:
Possess prior experience working in the human services field (behavioral health, mental health, substance abuse, housing, school, etc.), providing direct service/care to individuals.Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction. Must be a quick-learner that can work with individuals with developmental disabilities and address their behavioral challenges.Preferred Qualifications:
Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with relevant coursework and training, or:Have completed a minimum of twelve semester units in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and have at least a year of experience in the designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.Physical Requirements:
Employees in this position must have the ability to:
Sit for extended periods of time.Able to lift/carry up 15 pounds.Stand, walk, bend, reach overhead, grip/grasp, pull, and push.Ambulatory status (ability to independently remove self from potential hazards; i.e. natural disasters, fire, etc.)Who we are:
