SUMMARY: Provide information, guidance, training and assistance to school-based teams through observations, reviewing of records, attending meetings, side-by-side coaching, data collection, and consultation. Assist in assessment of Behavior Intervention Plans, data collection, and data analysis of individual students, classrooms, or schools. Assist schools in the development and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans. Provide trainings for classroom teachers, administration, paraprofessionals, parents, and related service providers on Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, crisis management, data collection and analysis as related to Mild/Moderate students as well as students with significant support needs, serious emotional disabilities and Autism Spectrum disorders. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of specialized programming and staff development. Support Special Education Directors and Coordinators in the area of behavior support and management. Collaborate with other district members, community services, outside providers, school based teams, administrators and problem solving teams.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Preference will be extended to internal candidates. Valid Colorado Special Services license with Psychologist, Social Worker, or Special Education endorsement. Knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessment/Analysis and Behavior support/Intervention Plans. Assists staff with design and implementation of behavioral programming for identified students. Assists staff with student observation, data collection, assessment, analysis of behavior plans, intervention design, crises management, and assistance with inclusion. Instructs students in affective development. Works with families of at risk students. Advocates for students and their families if involved in attendance, discipline, or expulsion hearings or in the court system. Participates in program wide planning.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Master’s degree or higher required.
• Experience providing mental health in an elementary or secondary school setting preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate Colorado Educator License.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE: Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Google Apps. Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, and Email
SALARY INFORMATION (FOR EXTERNAL CANDIDATES):
All salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule (https://www.adams12.org/our-district/careers/teach) is dependent on the employees’ education and/or work experience.
Special programs teachers of students with significant support needs, structured learning services or affective needs, audiologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school nurses, school psychologists, school social workers, and speech language pathologists shall receive experience credit for each full year of previous experience and are not limited to ten (10) years as described in Appendix A, Item 3.
Additionally, one (1) step for each full year, as described in this Appendix, of service in the district as a contracted certified, classified, in-building substitute, and/or administrative employee for educators beginning a new certified contract or returning to a certified contract.
