Being a Behavior Support Specialist at Devereux PA Children's Services has its Advantages

 

You will work directly with students from ages 5-21 with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities who have frequent behaviors in a school setting that is located in Downingtown, PA.

 

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52 week year round position)

 

Everyday as a Behavior Support Specialist you will:

Provide behavior management support to individuals in a school setting. Carry out specific interventions that are developed by the Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Transfer skills to individuals’ natural support in the least restrictive environment. Support teachers in managing student behavior

Devereux Center for Autism Research and Education Services (CARES) is an educational program licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that provides services to students, ages 5 to 21, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. CARES provides an environment that focuses on teaching each student based on his or her unique strengths and needs. Programming is focused on increasing independence for each student.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Registered Behavior Technician certification or RBT eligible; required. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents with behavior challenges preferred.
