Job Description
The Behavior Technician (aka Behavioral Management Assistant) is assigned a caseload of individuals that are receiving services in our Behavioral Management Services Program. Individuals-served will reside in Contra Costa and/or Alameda County area, and services are provided in their residence.

Job summary:
Under the general direction of the Behavior Analyst, the BMA implements the behavioral intervention plan established for individuals-served that are assigned to the caseload. Performance of the typical responsibilities and duties requires the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to provide client-centered behavioral management services, model and teach behavioral management techniques to individuals and their families/caregivers. This is not a remote position, so candidates should be aware that services will be provided in a community setting, within the individual's residence or a location within their community, providing the appropriate setting for services being delivered (park, library, public transportation, etc.).
Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
+ Implement behavioral intervention plans for individuals assigned to the caseload by teaching techniques and transferring of skills to family members/caregivers.
+ Incorporate the information gathered into the individual's Behavioral Intervention Plan in collaboration with the Behaviorist and continue to use the tools to continue to monitor their progress towards the Behavioral Intervention Plan objectives.
+ Work collaboratively with Program Manager/Behavior Analyst, regional center, individual, and their family/caregivers in the development and implementation of the individual’s behavioral intervention plan.
+ Provide regular updates to the leadership team on the status of the individual’s progress to their behavioral intervention plan objectives and make modifications to the behavioral intervention plan as needed so it continues to meet the individual’s needs and preferences, in accordance to HCBS rules and standards.
+ Apply confidentiality regulations and practices to everyday tasks to ensure protection of individual's private health information/records.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ At least one year of experience providing support/services to individuals with developmental disabilities, and/or other similar populations.
+ Ability to show patience and flexibility in working with individuals struggling with behavioral challenges.
+ Must be a punctual, reliable, and efficient individual that can plan and schedule work tasks appropriately to complete assignments in a timely manner.
+ Prior experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and methods (Preferred, but not required).
+ Bachelor's degree (Preferred, but not required - experience will be considered in lieu of education).
+ Must have reliable transportation to travel to different individuals' residences for service delivery, within the designated/assigned areas.
Physical Requirements:
Employees in this position must have the ability to:
+ Sit for extended periods of time.
+ Able to lift/carry up 15 pounds.
+ Stand, walk, bend, reach overhead, grip/grasp, pull, and push.
+ Ambulatory status (ability to independently remove self from potential hazards; i.e. natural disasters, fire, etc.).
