Summary:

The Behavioral Care Partner assumes the caretaker role for psychiatric patients (and non-psychiatric patients when necessary) either on psychiatric or non-psychiatric units such as medical/surgical floors, PICU, or the Emergency Department. Behavioral Care Partners assist children with activities of daily living, maintain a safe environment, and help manage any harmful behaviors while delivering competent and skilled care to patients and families under the supervision of RN/LVN. This position will deliver care with a team-oriented approach with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Hours: 18:30 - 07:00 2 days per week

Education/Experience:

High school Diploma.

Requires one of the following: (1) Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant course. Or (2) Completion of Medical Assistant course or comparable health care provider program with course work in patient assessment/vital signs, growth, and development. Or (3) Completion of first clinical semester in an accredited nursing program.

Experience with inpatient psychiatry or partial hospital psychiatric treatment is preferred.

Pediatric experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

BLS must be completed within 60 days of start date.

CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
