Job Title: Behavioral Crisis Center Technician

Location: Columbia, Missouri

Department: Rapid Access Unit

Time Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Crisis Center Technician provides essential support in a 24/7 rapid-access mental health and substance-use clinic. This role is vital in offering assessment, observation, stabilization, and treatment services for adults facing acute psychiatric and/or substance use disorders. By implementing guidelines and fostering positive client relationships, the technician contributes to a safe and supportive environment, ensuring quality care in an alternative setting to the hospital Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide general direction and supervision for all clients, ensuring adherence to program rules and procedures.Assist clients in maintaining clean and organized living and sleeping areas.Encourage the development of positive relationships among clients, staff, and peers.Supervise meal times to ensure a safe and sanitary environment and orderly mealtime procedures.Complete necessary paperwork for admissions, transfers, and discharges.Document treatment plan interventions and participate in daily center activities.Develop and write individualized treatment plans for clients.Monitor and facilitate group activities as directed, engaging clients to maximize their participation and benefit.Maintain facility cleanliness by completing designated tasks.Observe, record, and communicate client behaviors, strengths, progress, and needs promptly and accurately.Complete documentation in an orderly and timely manner.Attend team meetings and training sessions as requested.Achieve required training hours, totaling 40 hours annually.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age.High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred.Experience in Human Services or a related field is desirable.
