With 685 beds, we are home to the only comprehensive Burn and Level I Trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California! We have an 84-bed Level III NICU and plan to significantly expand pediatric specialty care. Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. Responsibilities:The Behavioral Health Clinician works under the supervision of a licensed clinician and provides all aspects of psychosocial mental and behavioral health services including primarily brief short-term individual and group therapy, diagnostic evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, care coordination, and case management. Interviews patients and facilitates discussion around diagnosis and treatment planning. Provides case coordination, client advocacy, and linkage to outpatient services as needed. Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment team. MUST BE REGISTERED with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Accountabilities 1. Provides effective and dynamic therapeutic individual and group sessions on a consistent basis as ordered by Physician, which meaningfully addresses the client's needs and goals as stated in the treatment plan, while earning hours towards BBS licensure.2. Obtains weekly supervision of 1-hour individual and/or 2-hour weekly group by a licensed clinician.3. Performs thorough psychosocial assessments within specified timeframes.4. Completes clinical documentation and follow up notation in a timely manner and in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations.5. Develops and implements individual treatment plan with patients and/or family based on mutually agreed upon goals to enhance, maintain and promote optimal psychosocial functioning throughout treatment and beyond.6. Facilitates treatment planning process and assures that all treatment team functions are thoroughly documented.7. Intervenes in crisis situations, providing needed assessment, counseling and information to patients and their families.8. Completes family/significant other education/support meetings on a group and individual basis as needed to support family/significant other's ability to support patient upon discharge.9. Consults with supervisor and staff as needed or required.10. Interacts with staff and patients in a professional and ethical manner.11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education• One of the following is requiredo Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)o Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, Professional Clinical Counseling or related field with concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work• Community Health System approved crisis intervention training completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into position required Experience• 2 years of clinical or social work or related experience required• Experience in behavioral health preferred• Experience in an inpatient or outpatient care setting preferred Licenses and Certifications• One of the following current and valid registration is requiredo ACSW - State of California Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW)o AMFT - State of California Associate Marriage and Family Therapisto APCC - State of California Associate Professional Clinical Counselor• State of California ASW/AMFT/APCC registration must be current and in good standing during employment. Incumbent must become licensed within six years from the date of registration in the State of California.
