**Job Summary and Qualifications**
A liaison between HCA Healthcare Northwest and the mental illness courts in the Harris County area to ensure a continual positive working relationship between the hospital and the courts.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Liaison between the mental illness court attorneys and the patients who have commitment procedures pending
+ Liaison between the hospital staff and /or patients regarding legal issues involving the mental illness courts
+ Liaison between the treatment managers and the psychiatrists regarding court issues
+ Responsible for filing and tracking all legal documents in the mental illness courts of Harris County
+ Submit statistical analysis and trends of the mental health courts to the administration of HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest
+ Provide all pertinent information on the transportation of committed patients to the business office of HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest
+ Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct
+ Conduct reflects the Company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct
+ Facilitate communication between our organization and the court system
+ Coordinate and schedule court dates
+ Ensure all legal documents are correctly filed and delivered
+ Handle various administrative tasks
+ Provide updates and reports on court proceedings
+ Assist in preparing legal documents and case files
+ Conduct research on legal regulations and recent court decisions
+ Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal regulations
+ Follow policies and procedures in particular regarding patient rights, confidentiality, and privacy
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Proven experience as a Court Liaison or similar role in the legal field preferred
+ Experience working with individuals of all ages with behavioral health diagnosis and co-occurring substance use concerns
+ Familiarity and relationships with Texas community service providers and payor sources preferred
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Bachelors Degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or related field. Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
+ If a nurse, current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners
