Position Description
Clinician does clinical interviewing to conduct biopsychosocial assessments on admission for outpatient services. The assessments include a series of questions regarding social supports, medical, substance use, and mental health history. Assessment further includes assessing current mental health symptoms, medical history, environmental factors treatment, risk and protective factors. Clinician screens for risk using validated screening tools. Support and education are provided during intake assessment. The purpose of the intake assessment is to identify the level of care deemed medically and clinically appropriate based on patient’s clinical presentation. Clinician must be able to provide a clinical diagnosis within an hour of assessing. Clinician also does case conceptualization and is able to determine care plans in a timely manner. Provides support services to severely emotionally disturbed or disabled adult behavioral health clients in order to meet the individual needs of the clients, to coordinate treatment, to assist the client with achieving the best possible functional level, to maximize symptom self-management and to enhancing quality of life and recovery. Collaborates with the care team to determine treatment assignments and services ordered upon entry.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
Master’s degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related mental health discipline with an emphasis on clinical experience. Three years experience post Master’s in the mental health field Licensed as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist), or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) Must be CPR certified.PREFERRED:
Prior clinical experience providing outpatient mental health or inpatient psychiatric services. Clinical experience in providing adult intake assessments in mental health settings. Expertise in motivational interviewing and strong clinical documentation skills.Service Area Overview
