The Behavioral Health Practice Manager is responsible for the training, supervision and coordination of staff who perform front desk, registration, data entry, insurance verification, claim and account resolution at each Behavioral Health location. The BH Practice Manager oversees the performance of site specific support staff and reports patterns of inefficiency, timeliness, error and/or progress to the Director of BH.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Responsible for the training, supervision and coordination of staff who perform
+ Front desk, registration, data entry, insurance verification, claim and account resolution at each Behavioral Health location
+ Monitors the missing ticket report to ensure claims are reconciled daily.
+ Alerts providers and Epic Central to trouble shoot claims that delay the process of reconciling claims daily.
+ Creates a scheduling template for creating and modifying provider’s schedules.
+ Oversees the performance of site specific support staff and reports patterns of inefficiency, timeliness, error and/or progress to the Director of BH.
+ Identifies the trends in non-payment and resolve outstanding accounts communicating with Billing Department when indicated to bring accounts to resolution.
+ Responsible for third party billing and necessary billing detail that must accompany each claim in order to assure that it is a “clean claim.” This includes billing rules regarding primary filing, timely filing and refilling.
+ Knowledge of EPIC EHR is required.
+ Completes and reconciles EOC and Fire Drill reports.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
+ High School Diploma/GED required. College degree is preferred.
+ At least one (1) year related experience.
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ Insurance and billing experience preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills; both written and verbal.
+ Must be detail-oriented with good organizational skills and be able to prioritize and work well under pressure.
+ Ability to problem solve with minimal direction.
+ Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet required deadlines and demonstrate flexibility in accepting new assignments.
+ Computer skills are necessary with the ability to create and run reports.
+ Working knowledge of medical billing codes and procedures covering adult primary care and pediatric services.
+ Knowledge of behavioral health insurance requirements, member eligibility, coding as related to the billing functions and working rejections.
+ Able to train others. Demonstrates a working knowledge of managed care carriers and fiscal intermediaries.
