Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Service Provider will work in the USM Center for Behavioral Health supporting the Screening, Outreach, Assessment, & Resilience (SOAR) Program. The SOAR Program is a new addition of specialty services in the CBH which is targeted to identify and treat Mississippians at risk for developing psychosis or experiencing early psychosis. The Behavioral Health Service Provider will provide clinical services in CBH, with focus on SOAR Program clients. The Behavioral Health Service Provider is a grant-funded position through the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA; award number H79SM089799).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Works closely with the Project Director, CBH Director, Program Coordinator, and leadership team to coordinate and provide services to community clients with clinical high risk for psychosis and early psychosis.
+ Establishes and maintains an active clinical caseload and supports clinical supervision of program staff on an as-needed basis.
+ Conducts assessments to determine risk of developing psychosis during intake assessments for all SOAR Program clients.
+ Leads group therapy and skills-based groups for SOAR Program clients.
+ Develops sharable information about relevant community resources for clients from across the state of Mississippi.
+ Assists clients with applications for Medicaid coverage as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Fluent in English, written and spoken. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field relevant to mental health (including but not limited to social work, psychology, counseling, etc.). Licensed or license-eligible in the relevant field in the state of Mississippi to provide mental health services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to helping clients navigate various issues related to psychopathology or disadvantage
+ Strong written communication skills, particularly in regard to clinical documentation
+ Ability to maintain strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and work closely with a team
+ Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team structure
+ Ability to operate computer systems, including Internet, Teams, email, databases, and word processing software (Microsoft Office Suite)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Clinical or programmatic experience working with persons with psychosis or schizophrenia-spectrum disorders
+ Prior experience working with inter-disciplinary teams in a healthcare setting
+ Experience implementing telehealth services
