Amergis Healthcare is searching for a qualified Behavioral Health Tech for an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Detention Center.
Expected Shift:
Evening shift, Monday-Friday from 1500-2300
Possibility of some weekends if/as needed
Possibility of some day shift flexibility if space/workload permits
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides comprehensive mental health screenings, patient care management and facilitates basic psycho-educational groups. BHT augments on-site behavioral services to include patient education, segregation wellness checks, sleep checks, behavioral observations, and compliance coaching for medical and mental health patients. The BHT consults with Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) to monitor patient compliance, promote safety and patient engagement within an integrated and therapeutic care milieu. BHT schedules appointments, complete medical records documentation in electronic Health Records (eHR) and coordinates follow up care for mental health patients under the direction of the BHP.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree issuing institution and or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
1. Associate degree in a behavioral science/specialty field
Noted Acceptable Degrees:
• Applied Behavioral Science
• Psychology
• Neuroscience – as related to neuropsychology and the relationship between brain and behavior
• Biobehavioral Science
• Criminology
• Criminal Justice - aspects of degree meets expectations for a correctional setting
2. Two years of work experience in a mental health clinic or residential healthcare setting.
REQURED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
1. American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT) certification at level three within 12 months of hire.
1. Maintains current certification in either the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS) or the American Red Cross CPR/BLS Course.

In addition to Amergis' standard benefits package, we are offering the following:
$25.64 per hour plus an additional $4.93/hour up to 40 hours per week
2 weeks of paid vacation
Up to 56 hours of paid sick leave
11 paid federal holidays (regardless of working on the holiday)
