Inova Kellar Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist III to join our team supporting our patients and family at our Kellar Center located in Fairfax, VA.  This position is a full time position Monday – Friday days with some evenings potentially required to meet patient needs.

Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Demonstrates the ability to assess and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders through a bio/psycho/social department specific and evidenced based assessment identifying patient and family goals and needs. Integrates assessments using information related to cultural, clinical, ethnic, age and other factors into the plan of care. Provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.  Provides care coordination and care management to ensure the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes. Serves as a clinical leader by providing clinical supervision to team members seeking licensure as well as supervision/mentoring of graduate students during clinical internships. Works collaboratively with faculty liaison and/or clinical supervisor as appropriate. Participates in patient and community psychoeducational programs and facilitates support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, substance use disorders, medical diagnosis and chronic or life limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach as needed.

Requirements for consideration:

A Minimum of 3 years experience in mental health/substance use disordered, psychoeducation programming including brief, targeted, evidence-based interventions (crisis intervention, trauma, integrative therapies) with demonstrated success as a clinical supervisor. A Master’s Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or behavioral health-related field is required.  Must possess a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSAP) License that is active and in good standing for the Commonwealth of VA upon start Certification Basic Life Support must be obtained from the American Heart Association within 3 months, and Certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute must be obtained within 6 months of hire
