St. Mary Mercy has received numerous awards recognizing excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, financial performance and efficiency. **GENERAL SUMMARY:** Provides direct clinical services to patients, families, and significant others within the Emergency Department and Psychiatric Central Screening. Based upon clinical assessments and considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs, makes recommendations to physicians regarding appropriate services and work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, other SMMH staff, and community providers to facilitate the initiation of appropriate services. May also provide crisis intervention or short-term, focused clinical treatment services. **JOB QUALIFICATIONS** Education + Requires Masters Degree in Social Work or Psychology Licensure ØCurrent Michigan CSW or LLP Licensure Training and Experience + One to two years progressively more independent work experience in a psychiatric or related setting. Job Knowledge + Clinical and analytical skills necessary to assess patient psychiatric needs, including evaluation of the degree of patient risk for dangerousness.
