ABOUT IHBS

The Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBS) program offers specialized mental health support for clients aged 3-21, focusing on transitioning them back to family care or preventing institutional placement. IHBS involves individual therapeutic sessions between a behavioral coach and the client and their caregivers, aimed at developing skills to effectively manage behaviors hindering family integration or placing the client at risk of separation from family. Referrals are facilitated through the Solano County Mental Health Youth Transitions in Care (Y-TIC) Committee. The IHBS team empowers clients by teaching skills and alternative behaviors, such as communication, trigger identification, and self-soothing techniques.
