Minimum 2 years conducting behaviour assessments, developing behaviour interventions and analyzing data using ABA principles Use of standard psychogeriatric assessment tools and behavioural, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental assessments relating to responsive behaviours Demonstrated experience working with dual diagnosis is considered an assetOther Skills and Abilities
Expertise and knowledge of working with individuals with various types of dementia, delirium, and those with acute behavioural change Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others Excellent clinical-reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills Effective assessment, intervention, client centered and collaborative care planning skills Experience providing caregiver education, support and counselling relating to caring for a person with responsive behaviours Creativity, flexibility, positive attitude Strong communication skills (oral and written) Technological proficiency\: use of MS Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Ability and willingness to travel in the GTA and surrounding regionsDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Use Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles to design and conduct function-based intervention procedures Develop, monitor, and supervise the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) including objectives, data collection, monitoring and data analysis Conduct Treatment Integrity Checks (TICs) to ensure consistent/accurate implementation of BSPs Provide comprehensive clinical assessments with a focus on identifying factors contributing to responsive behaviors utilizing a bio-psychosocial approach Participate in the evaluation of risks associated with maladaptive behaviours upon client intakes and develop plans to mitigate the identified risks Collaborate with client, care partners, and the client’s circle of care to develop and disseminate individualized behavior management plans in the community and long-term care sectors Ensure the protection of client rights and acting in an advocacy role for the resident/clients Recommend additional treatment by other professionals as deemed appropriate Attend and prepare required reports and case conferences within identified timelines Provide 1\:1 and/or small group training sessions for direct support employees and/or client’s family members Remain current on clinical best-practices and evidence based interventions Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
