Position Description

JOB TITLE: Bell Attendant

DEPARTMENT: Guest Service

REPORTS TO: Manager or Designated Person

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:

To provide assistance to guests and hotel departments, to transport and deliver luggage, mail, and other items around hotel property, to ensure guest comfort and facilitate hotel operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to an appropriate supervisor when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.To follow all specified procedures to provide personal, sincere customer service to hotel guests, including greeting and orienting arriving guests; assisting guests to and from their rooms; picking up and delivering amenities, laundry, mail, parcels, and other requested items; providing ice, giving directions; and assisting to arrange guest transportation.To assist hotel departments, as requested, including mail and parcel delivery.To actively promote the hotel’s services and facilities to visiting guests.To be available to work irregular hours, including evening, weekends and holidays.To follow all policies and procedures of JC Resorts LLC.To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.To practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others, including the safe operation of all power-driven machinery.To comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the proper handling of all relevant equipment.To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Previous hotel experience preferred.

SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be able to prioritize. Must be computer literate and be able to use Hotel software. Safety- minded. High quality standards for service. Diplomatic and calm. Strong verbal communications skills. Must display knowledge of currently accepted business telephone etiquette. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Spends approximately equal amounts of time in/outdoors, daily. Indoors: Temperature-controlled, clean, and well lighted guest rooms, offices, and public areas. Bi-level structures. Outdoors: Exposed to varying weather conditions in non-sheltered areas. Walks on all types of surfaces, including cement, tile, and carpet. Outdoor walkway surfaces may be slippery and uneven. Extensive facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands, walks and runs moderate to long distances throughout shift. Ability to stand on his/her feet for up to 8 hours. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 75 lbs., over moderate to long distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts. Frequent use of stairs. Bends, climbs, stoops, pushes, pulls, reaches, and lifts to perform routine job tasks.

Periodically required to work at very fast pace, under pressure.

NON-EXEMPT POSITION: Non-exempt employees are subject to the wage and hour laws and entitled to overtime pay. All overtime work by a non-exempt employee must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor, the General Manager, or other designated manager at the property. Non-exempt employees who work overtime without prior approval are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.

The expected base wage range for this position is: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company’s policies, as they may be amended from time to time.
