Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Bell Captain oversees operations of the Bellmen, Valets and Drivers as designated. This position is responsible for parking and transportation, provides information and services to guests and patrons and assists arriving and departing guests with their luggage. This position reports to the Guest Services Manager.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of daily Guest Service department operations
• Supervise the organization and execution of OSU’s and removal
• Greet arriving guests and welcome them to the Residences
• Assist owners and guests from vehicles and escort to the front desk
• Unload guest luggage, skis, etc., tag and store luggage appropriately
• Assist departing guests with transportation and luggage needs
• Provide directions or general information to guests
• Review and maintain employee work schedules, Kronos and payroll maintenance
• Assist in employee training, provide feedback and take corrective action with staff as needed
• Report all accidents immediately to the Guest Services Manager or the Director of Operations
• Supervise the cleanliness of the main entrance to the Residences and daily cleaning of bell carts
• Communicate any guest comments and/or concerns to the Guest Services Manager
• Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Current Driver’s License with no violations
• 1 year of previous hotel experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of all hotel services, hours of operation, daily functions, locations and times
• Knowledge of hotel fire and safety procedures
• Strong knowledge of surrounding town and areas
• Basic industry terminology
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly
• Active listening and interpersonal skills to personalize the guest experience
• Ability to act professional in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to understand written and verbal English
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively in team settings, contributing positively to group dynamics
• Report to work in compliance with grooming standards
• Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels permit
• Ability to multi-task and to control a busy environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
