Bell Desk Dispatcher

SUMMARY

The Grand Sierra Resort Hotel Operations Department is seeking a talented and qualified individual to serve as a Bell Dispatcher.  The successful candidate should be outgoing and friendly with a gregarious personality and a natural talent for customer service. Team Member is responsible for answering all calls, dispatching bell personnel to guest rooms in an orderly fashion and assigning drivers for our transportation department. Team Member must exhibit courteous hospitality at all times and fully own each guest issue. When in communication with the guest, the Team Member must be proactive in every area, including offering additional services. Strives to continually improve guest satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needsAnswer all incoming calls coming to the Bell Desk and assist guests with their needsAssign bell personnel to all requests in the system so that guests are served in a timely mannerAble to communicate storage and delivery services to our guests, informing them adequately about potential wait times for serviceTag guest luggage with number of bags and last name of guest and ensure luggage is stored safely according to the prescribed proceduresStore and retrieve luggage and other objects for guestsVerify guests ticket with the one attached to the luggage before handing over bags to the guest.On occasion deliver packages for guests from FedEx after hoursCoordinate and rent out Scooters and Wheelchairs for our third party vendorIn emergency situations assist in covering any transportation runs that left uncoveredMaintain a well-organized and clean guest luggage storage roomAble to provide guests with information regarding property facilities, amenities, services, special eventsGive fond farewell to all guests who are departing as per GSR standardsResponsible to follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction.Document and report all luggage incidents like damages, accidents, theft, missing articles etc.Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.Monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of luggage storage room and main bell desk

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous Bell Desk experience required.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED certificate.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

Must hold and obtain a valid Driver’s License for the State of Nevada.

Must obtain and maintain Alcohol Awareness Card .

Must produce driving record from DMV annually to present to management to remain in position.

Must obtain safe driving certificate from online driving school.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Fluent in English language. Must possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts and employees at all levels of the company.   Must possess a strong attention to detail and presentation skills.

Results oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to create and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions through decisive judgment. Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The employee must consistently be able to lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to run back and forth to the Valet lot consistently during your shift.
