This role involves providing personalized assistance, ensuring employees receive the necessary support and guidance, while maintaining compliance with legal and company policies.
This is a great role for someone with an strong background in HR Generalist and/or working knowledge of benefits & leave of absence policies.
Schedule: Remote Mon-Friday 8:30-5:00pm
Essential Duties:
Act as the primary point of contact for employees seeking information on leave of absence, and benefit related questions. Assists employees in understanding and completing necessary paperwork, including medical certifications, benefit continuation, and other required forms.Serves as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, leave eligibility, claims, and problem resolution.As needed, manage and systematically facilitate qualifying events, court or state mandated orders, relating to changes in employee benefit enrollment(s).Acts as primary liaison with employee on collection of any owed benefit premiums.Work closely with benefits vendors and brokers to manage service delivery failures and resolve issues.Processes benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner.Regularly checks in with employees on extended leaves to address any concerns, provide updates, and ensure that leave processes are proceeding smoothly.Position Requirements & Competencies:
2 years of experience in a customer-facing or HR-related role, with a focus on employee benefits, leave management, or similar functions.Strong knowledge of leave-related laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave laws, and the impact of leaves on employee benefits.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS (Human Resource Information System) or leave management systems.A customer service-oriented approach, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage sensitive or emotional situations with tact.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.Addus provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
