The Role

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Benefits Administrator to support out People & Culture team. The Benefits Administrator is responsible for administering individual and group benefit programs in U.S. and Canada, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, ancillary benefits plans, business travel accident, health savings plan, flexible spending plans, and retirement plans. The Benefits Administrator provides excellent customer service to the organization and its employees and contributes to the design of quality benefits plans to attract and retain top talent.

This position can be hybrid (2 days onsite) within the San Diego, CA or Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities

Responsible for the administration of all U.S. and Canada benefit programs, including Health & Welfare and retirement plans.Participates in the education of employee at new hire and throughout the year, which includes assisting employee with understanding the benefit offerings.First point of contact for employee benefit issues (respond to questions, work with payroll or Sr. Manager of Benefits for issue resolution).Assists with escalations from Human Resource Business Partners and other employees.Maintains employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.Participates in benefit planning for subsequent year.Explains employee benefits by conducting meetings, preparing written and graphic announcements, presentations, and explanations, and responding to requests for information.Leads annual benefits open enrollment, including participating in system testing and development of employee communication & education.Performs subsequent internal audits related to the annual benefits open enrollment.Assist with create, coordinate and execute communication campaigns and other required notices for employees (e.g. SPDs, SMMs) and other stakeholders on benefit programs.Craft content and communications for employees that are approachable, succinct, and reflect Company culture, including monthly communication to employees highlighting benefits programs.Engage with all U.S. and Canada benefits vendors.Support and participate in ongoing Benefits and HR initiatives and projects.Helps develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package including new hire orientation, open enrollment, training material for Benefit Admin system.Completes benefits surveys.Research internal and external questions related to benefits, Qualifying Life Events, and eligibility.Responds to queries from employees for benefits questions and navigating the systems.Performs various audit throughout the plan year to ensure data accuracy and compliance.Stays current with changing regulations and current trends in benefits, with a focus on product development, delivery and support and utilizing key technologies.Back up to the Associate Benefits Administrator when needed, including new hire orientation around Benefits.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.Three or more years of experience in employee benefits.Solid understanding of different benefit plans (retirement, health, dental and vision insurance, etc.).Strong computer skills required, including word processing, database and spreadsheet experience (i.e., MS Office).Understanding of data recording and analysis.Ability to handle a high volume of work required.Attention to detail and accuracy.Must be very well organized, accurate, thorough and monitor work for quality.Ability to handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize required.Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and personalities.  Strong interpersonal skills are a necessity.Ability to maintain confidentiality a must.

Preferred:

Workday benefits administrator experience.

Internal Partners:

Interacts will all levels of the organization.Works closely with payroll, accounting, People & Culture, and communication teams.

External Partners:

Vendors.

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $85,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
