Functions (*Essential Functions) • Administer and review Benefits for multiple markets. • Research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value. Design, recommend and implement new benefits programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes. Negotiate with vendors and administrator for best plans, options, and rates across different markets. • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees. • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, and 401(k) loans. Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records. • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. • Assists with new-hire orientations. • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data. • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility. • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings. Compare billings and enrollments for accuracy. • Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company's stance. Updated 2/18/2024 Page 2 of 3 • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries. • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities. • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment. • Assists with the open enrollment process. • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges. • Own the annual Open Enrollment process and administer employee benefits communications. Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package. Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff. • Distribute mandatory plan documents and notices in accordance with the DOL and IRS (Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary of Material Modifications, HIPAA Privacy and other Annual Participant Notices, etc.) • Oversees Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and reporting with our TPA. Responsible for annual reporting to include 5500 filings and complete annual audits in preparation for required filings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
3-5 years benefits experience 3 years + certs or 5 years benefits experience no cert ADP or UKG experience Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, and Social Security and DOL requirements. Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree • Five to seven years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience. • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations. • Efficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). • Efficiency with ADP and Salesforce
