Overview

The Benefits Administrator will play a key role in managing and overseeing various aspects of US and Canada employee benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in benefits administration and will be a motivated individual with strong organization and time-management skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities Administer the day-to-day operations of US and Canada group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, and other company-sponsored benefits)Collaborate with benefits contact center to assist employees with enrollment, life events, dependent verification, and benefits issues/concerns.Educate employees on available benefits and how to utilize them effectively.Provide new hires with benefit materials and assist in enrollment, as needed.Support open enrollment processes, including distribution of materials, scheduling meetings, employee communications, and system updates.Update employee benefits center with employee communications and required notices.Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and others, including ACA reporting and filing, 1095 reporting and filing, 5500 filing, NDT testing for healthcare and retirement account, Medicare mailings, and other state filings.Work with auditors to supply timely and accurate data as needed.Monitor third party billing reconciliation and payment service.Collaborate with finance department on billing reconciliation.Track budget to provide spend to leadership as needed.Assist in the administration of HireRight's wellness platform, including coordination of wellness challenges.Assist in the administration of HireRight's rewards and recognition program.Work closely with HRIS to ensure interface files are running smoothly and address any errors or discrepancies.Administer arrears and retroactive adjustments, ensuring employees are paying the appropriate deductions each pay.Ensure data in HR systems are accurate through monthly audit checks. Respond to mail and email requests for information from various government, state and federal entities regarding disability or benefits verification.Provide ongoing support to benefits and HR team.

 

Qualifications

Education:

 

Associate’s degree required Bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Experience:

 

1-3 years of benefits administration experience required Ability to speak and write English

 

Knowledge & Skills:

 

Must be proficient in Excel (Pivot tables, V-look ups, formulas) Experience with UKG or similar HRIS systems Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in benefits systems and processesSolid analytical skills with attention to detailStrong organizational and time-management skillsHas general professional knowledge or possesses specialized vocational/technical skills for a variety of technical or administrative policies and procedures.Sound understanding of the skills and working knowledge required for a variety of practices and procedures.
