Overview

The Benefits Administrator will play a key role in managing and overseeing various aspects of US and Canada employee benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in benefits administration and will be a motivated individual with strong organization and time-management skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities Direct and plan the day-to-day operations of US and Canada group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, and other company-sponsored benefits)Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.Oversee benefits team and contact center to ensure employees receive appropriate assistance with enrollment, life events, dependent verification, and benefits issues/concerns.Educate employees on available benefits and how to utilize them effectively.Manage open enrollment and new hire processes, including distribution of materials, meetings, employee communications, and system updates.Work closely with HRIS to ensure interface files are running smoothly and errors or discrepancies are addressed timely.Oversee the administration of arrears and retroactive adjustments, ensuring employees are paying the appropriate deductions each pay.Manage employee benefits center to ensure it stays up to date with employee communications, benefits information, and required notices.Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, reporting, and filings, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA. This includes 1095 reporting and filing, 5500 filings, NDT testing for healthcare and retirement accounts, Medicare mailings, and other state filings.Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and testing and work with auditors to supply timely and accurate data as needed.Manage third party billing, reconciliation and payment service and collaborate with the finance department on necessary reporting. Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies. Assist in the monitoring, verifying, and reconciling of budgeted funds. Lead HireRight’s global wellness initiatives by designing and implementing an annual wellness program that drives engagement in the wellness platform.Oversee the administration of HireRight's global rewards and recognition program.Audit the accuracy and performance of functions performed by benefits staff, ensuring data in HR systems are accurate.Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.Work closely with broker to design, recommend, and implement benefits plans that present the best value. Examine possible plan designs and benefit cost changes.Analyze current benefits with broker, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs.Complete benefits surveys and review information obtained from the results, forecasting trends and assist with future benefits designs. Education:

 

Bachelor's degree required

 

Experience:

 

Three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience requiredAbility to speak and write English

 

Knowledge & Skills:

 

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPointExperience with UKG or similar HRIS systems Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in benefits systems and processesSolid analytical skills with attention to detailStrong organizational, communication, and time-management skillsProven ability to work effectively in a team environment.Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
