Senior Benefits Analyst Job Summary

Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Senior Benefits Analyst under minimal supervision, manages the leave administration process and works closely with the vendors, aids employees with benefit related issues and questions, assists in compiling and maintaining benefit records by completing audits of the carriers reporting. Manages assigned projects, engaging internal and external resources to ensure timely completion. Provides administrative and clerical support within a highly collaborative environment. This exciting and significant role will be integral in providing support to the benefits team. This role is based in Irving, TX.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Manage the administration of the Leave of Absence process by organizing, delegating and responding to communication from employee and vendor.

· Serve as the primary contact for the setup of new state mandated leave policies (PFL).

· Manage union leave policies and changes to benefits per CBA’s.

· Develop and coordinate training sessions for BA’s and HR on benefits (Quarterly).

· Develop and revise benefits processes to streamline the task i.e., leave practices.

· Assist with M&A activity during due diligence and implementation with Benefits Manager.

· Assist with the day-to-day administrative functions of the Benefits department.

· Assist with monthly billing reconciliations for various benefit plans.

· Conduct periodic audits on benefit enrollments.

· Assist with plan vendors and administrators related to Health and Welfare and Retirement benefits.

· Serve as the Communication liaison for Open Enrollment and key benefit plan documentation.

· Evaluate internal processes to reduce costs and increase departmental efficiency.

· Maintains employee confidential records while adhering to HIPPA requirements.

· Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

· Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized.

Required Skills/Abilities

· You will serve as an employee advocate to provide insights and guidance regarding benefit programs and questions.

· Monitor and oversee new hire eligibility, status change eligibility, and benefits training notification processes.

· Serve as a liaison with our associates, benefits providers and other third-party vendors as necessary.

· Manage and respond to benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.

· Administer leave of absence process, and other tasks dealing with plan administration.

· Perform necessary transactions to ensure accuracy of changes, additions and deletions of benefits in multiple systems.

· Maintain benefit records by developing recordkeeping systems; initiating new-hire benefits; recording changes.

· Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

· Self-starter who takes the initiative to proactively address employee issues and/or concerns.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with little supervision.

· Excellent attention to detail and follow-up.

· Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Working knowledge of Workday (preferred).

· Experience maintaining and supporting open enrollment and daily benefits administration for 10,000 employees or more (preferred)

Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred) or 2-4 years’ experience in employee benefits.

· Knowledge of benefit regulations (FMLA, PFL, ERISA, IRS Section 125, 401k, etc.)

· Project management experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up-to fifteen pounds at a time.
