Job Summary

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for researching complex benefit plan issues, coordinates annual open enrollment, participates in program implementation, and audits eligibility and compliance.

Essential Functions

Research complex benefit plan issues, such as investigation of denied claims. Determines and approves appropriate action up to $10,000. Recommend resolutions on other issues.Audits eligibility and compliance and addresses with divisions and manager.Participates in and coordinates program implementations and enhancements.Serves as a point of contact with vendors on issues such as reporting, finance and data interfaces.Supports manager in compliance activities, such as non-discrimination testing and implementation of legislative mandates.Conducts/responds to benefit surveys.Assists in coordination of annual Open Enrollment.Research issues related to time off to include research and issue resolution, as well as policy development.Identifies process improvements and develops procedures to implement. Ensures administration of disability and leave of absence programs are being provided in accordance with ScionHealth’s policies. Responsibilities include coordination with the outsourced leave provider, management of escalated claims, liaison with employees and business partners. Responsible for communication, and coordination of vendor integrations for proper tracking and payment of leaves.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of benefit plan features, maintenance and administration, including open enrollment process.Financial analysis skills.Project management skills.Proficient in the use of spreadsheet and database software.Some travel may be required. Approximate percentage of time required to travel\: 20%

Education

College degree strongly preferred.

Licenses/Certification

CEBS, CBP, or PHR may be considered in lieu of college degree.

Experience

5 years of benefit administration experience, including benefit data analysis, open enrollment, and acquisition integration.

Depending on a candidate’s qualifications, this role may be filled at a different level.
