As a Benefits Analyst, you will be a critical member of our Benefits team, responsible for analyzing, administering, and optimizing our employee benefit programs. You will support the development of health, wellness, and retirement plans that align with our company’s values and ensure a top-tier experience for our 27,000+ employees across diverse roles and locations. By leveraging data-driven insights and fostering strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, you will help maintain our position as a leader in the equipment rental industry.
What you’ll do:
Program Analysis and Compliance:
Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of benefit programs, ensuring they remain competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with federal and state regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, etc.).
Perform plan audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to benefit policies.
Analyze payroll integration to ensure proper deductions and benefit administration.
Review plan compliance and regulatory adherence, addressing any identified gaps.
Provide integration analysis to ensure seamless transitions with third-party vendors or new benefit offerings.
Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
Conducting research on market trends and participating in benefits surveys.
Preparing reports and forms for regulatory compliance, such as ERISA filings.
Benefits Billing and Accounting:
Reconcile and process monthly benefit invoices from vendors, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Monitor budget allocations for benefit programs, providing analysis on cost trends and variances.
Assist in developing strategies to manage high-dollar claims and reduce overall benefit costs.
Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate expense reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Vendor Management:
Support open enrollment setup & processes, including benefit communication strategies and vendor partnerships to enhance the employee experience.
Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure timely implementation and resolution of issues.
Reporting and Data Analytics:
Generate and analyze reports using HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) to identify trends, measure benefit utilization, and support strategic decision-making.
Provide data-driven recommendations to support enhancements to benefit offerings and processes.
Employee Support:
Provide subject matter expertise to employees, HR business partners, and leadership regarding benefit offerings and issue resolution.
Act as a resource for employees, guiding them through benefit-related concerns or classifications.
Process Enhancement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes related to leave of absence, wellness initiatives, and retirement plan management.
Identify opportunities for process improvement to streamline benefits administration.
Lead or contribute to benefit-related projects, including the implementation of new programs, system upgrades, or process integrations.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, Master’s degree preferred
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred
3-7+ years experience in benefits administration or HR analytics, preferably for large employer
Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. federal and state regulations (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and provincial regulations in Canada related to health & welfare
Proficient in HRIS systems (Workday), Excel skills for data analysis/reporting
Knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, including experience with non-discrimination testing under Section 414(q)
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with vendors and brokers to negotiate benefit plan terms and cost-saving opportunities
Advanced MS Office skills specifically in Excel (formulas, V-lookups, etc.) and PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines, especially during high-demand periods such as open enrollment
