Benefits Analyst

Primary Purpose of Position:
With a focus on leave of absence administration, the Benefits Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the broader administration of BXP’s benefits offerings. This role will serve as the main point of contact for leaves and general benefits inquires to ensure seamless communication and support of the company’s workforce.
Essential Functions:
+ Manage all aspects of leave of absence and disability programs including FMLA, short term disability, and long-term disability in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws.
+ Provide guidance to employees and managers on leave policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely information regarding eligibility, documentation requirements, and leave benefits.
+ Maintain and track accurate records of employee leave requests, information, and documentation.
+ Collaborate closely with HR Business Advisors, Payroll Team, and Risk Management to ensure efficient leave administration.
+ Oversee HealthEquity | WageWorks benefits and assist with administration of commuter benefits, flexible spending account administration, and health savings account administration.
+ Monitor benefits files between HRIS, BXP’s third-party data exchange platform, and benefits carriers; Assist with troubleshooting and resolution.
+ Support Senior Benefits Analyst with ACA reporting and review of 1095-C forms.
+ Assist with various audit processes (401k, benefits, etc.).
+ Participate in open enrollment planning and execution.
+ Serve as a back-up Total Rewards representative for weekly New Hire Orientations.
+ Create and update leave and benefit resources, flyers, and process documentation.
+ Complete state leave forms in a timely manner.
+ Peer review qualifying life events and benefit retro-deduction calculation completed by Total Rewards Support Specialist.
+ Peer review communications drafted by Total Rewards Support Specialist for wellness and mental health wellbeing programs.
+ Take on additional benefits-related responsibilities as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
+ 2-4 years of experience in an HR role with previous leave experience highly desirable.
+ A BA/BS degree required.
+ Working knowledge of federal and state laws, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable regulations.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion, a high degree of professionalism, and confidentiality.
+ Effectively manage difficult conversations and influence successful outcomes.
+ Serve as an HR and BXP ambassador who displays effective judgment and strong relationship and interpersonal skills; and the ability to interface with all levels across the entire organization.
+ Experience working within an organizational structure with multiple locations/regions requiring exceptional relationship building skills.
Physical Requirements:
+ Involves work of a general office nature usually performed sitting such as operation of a computer or answering the phone.
+ Involves work of a general office nature usually performed standing such as operation of a photocopier.
+ Involves movement between departments to facilitate workflow.
+ May be required to occasionally lift 10-15 lbs.
Internal and External Contracts:
+ Regularly interfaces in both verbal and written form with all levels of professionals (800 employees in multiple locations) regarding a wide range of employee matters. Many matters are confidential in nature.
+ Regularly interfaces with external consultants and vendors.
Reporting Structure:
+ Reports directly to the Director, Benefits who provides supervision (to include time approvals and annual performance evaluations). Receives day to day oversight from Senior Benefits Analyst.
