Benefits and Compensation Specialist

We are searching for a Benefits and Compensation Specialist to join a dynamic organization in a broad benefits and compensation role with exposure to and responsibility for all of the operational aspects of benefits and compensation. This role will assist in designing, developing, implementing and communicating benefit programs. Assists Director, Compensation and Benefits to achieve business priorities to ensure benefits programs align with the goals of the company and support a high-performance culture by rewarding and attracting top talent. This role will remain current on Industry trends, best practices and compliance and drive operational excellence and innovation in all areas of responsibility.
 
What you will do:
 

Collaborate and partner with HR and members of management to understand the challenges related to compensation and benefits in attracting, motivating, and retaining high quality, diverse talent.Acts as first point of internal contact for all employee questions, concerns, and support issues related to benefitsMaintains knowledge and continuing education of all applicable benefits, leave/accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and the state and local lawsAbility to assist in audits as neededAbility to design content for new hire orientation and training for leave of absence and benefit programsAbility to communicate programs, plan changes, new hire orientation, and open enrollment, including in-person and virtual presentationsAbility to partner with third-party administrators to administer selected benefits Validate the effectiveness of compensation and benefit programs, ensuring market competitiveness and business objectives are achieved.Participate in the design, development, implementation, communication, and administration of all benefits and leave of absence programs.Create and communicate benefit information to employees.Assist in managing retirement benefits, LTIP and 401K plan programsEnsure compliance with State and Federal laws and other legal requirements.Remain current on industry trends, best practices, and compliance.Lead additional projects as requested, including research, planning, implementation and cost/benefit analysis.

 
What you will bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field required.Five or more (5+) years’ experience work in compensation and benefits administration.In depth expertise designing innovative benefits models across different employee segments.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)Expertise in HCM systems, ideally ADP and Paycorp.Ability to evaluate and recommend benefit programs based on market assessment and business strategy.Excellent strategic, analytical and financial skills.Driven self-starter with a strong attention to detailAbility to operate independently as well as in a team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comfortably handle difficult conversations at all levels of the organizationAbility to establish strong partnerships with internal customers to ensure a high level of customer service and relationship building.
