JOB SUMMARY

\n

The Benefits Consultant I is accountable for the administration of employee benefit programs, providing guidance to employees on eligibility, coverage and other matters related to benefits.

\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nManages and administers employee benefit programs such Retirement, Voluntary, Dental, Vision and Well Being, and other benefits as applicable.\nServes as a key point of contact for PeoplePlace, providing guidance on eligibility, coverage and other matters related to benefits, by established policies.\nMaintains benefits records and documentation.\nHelps in the design and implementation of benefits programs to help attraction, retention and motivation of a high quality and high performing workforce.\nHelps in the preparation of summary plan descriptions and other employee benefit communications.\nHelps with benefits initiatives and projects, including program changes, ongoing education efforts, operations and vendor transitions to ensure employees knowledge, smooth transitions and efficient and effective day-to-day operations.\nParticipates in the integration and transition in merger and divestiture partnerships.\nIdentifies cost-effective solutions to actively manage the programs delivered to employees to give the most value for the dollars spent.\nEvaluates processes and procedures to identify opportunities for process improvement.\nHelps in compliance reviews related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other regulatory and internal policies.\nServes as back up help for other benefit programs, as requested.\n\n

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

\n\nSociety for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS ) designation preferred.\nThorough knowledge of benefits program management techniques and methods.\nKnowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.\nKnowledge of change management values.\nAbility to work alone, with minimal guidance.\nExcellent knowledge of MS Office specifically Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus. Knowledgeable of programs such as Canva is a plus. \nOutstanding organizational skills.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.\nExcellent problem-solving ability, with ability to solve complex programs.\n\n
