We are looking for someone with a passion for benefits. Depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate, we may offer the title of Benefits Specialist (for a more experienced professional) or Benefits Coordinator (for the more entry-level professional). Either way, we are looking for someone who delights in helping others and will enjoy the day-to-day tasks associated with administering DMU’s benefits programs.

A typical day for a Benefits Coordinator/Specialist:
+ Manage day-to-day core employee benefit programs including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, FSA life, disability, and retirement plan. Manage employee perks and fringe benefits (e.g., discounted tickets, corporate discounts, etc.).
+ Provide personalized support to employees navigating life events, such as marriage, childbirth, or retirement, by ensuring timely updates to benefits, resolving inquiries, and guiding them through available options and resources.
+ Organize and lead orientation sessions for new employees to introduce them to company benefits programs, policies, and procedures. This includes explaining available benefits options, assisting with enrollment processes, and answering any questions new hires may have to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
+ Review and process daily and weekly data entries from vendor reports, ensuring accuracy and timely updates to employee benefit records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
+ Support HR Operations Manager in formulating job descriptions, reviewing classifications, and ensuring pay equity.
What we are looking for:
+ The minimum requirements for the Benefits Coordinator role include having at least an Associate’s Degree and two years of benefits administration experience.
+ The minimum requirements for the Benefits Specialist Role include having a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field, and at least three years of benefits administration experience.
+ Human Resources certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) and/or benefits (CEBS) certification, preferred.
+ High proficiency in computer software programs, including HRIS and benefits administration, preferably Dayforce.
+ An eye for detail.
+ Excellent customer service skills.

Salary Range: For someone who meets the minimum requirements of the Benefits Coordinator position, we anticipate a salary in the range of $60,000 - $70,000. For a candidate meeting the requirements for the Benefits Specialist position, we anticipate a salary in the range of $68,000 - $78,000.
