Job Description

The Benefits Manager plans, develops, and administers various employee benefit programs, including but not limited to life and health insurance, disability, flexible benefits, retirement, and leaves. This role recommends new and/or improved employee benefit plans, cost-saving and competitive measures. It coordinates the benefits payroll setup and all related financial accounting responsibilities. The Benefits Manager also communicates with other divisions and HR to effectively develop and maintain the employee benefits program. Ensures compliance with all legal requirements of various employee benefit programs. Manages day-to-day benefits programs and designs and delivers benefits solutions and policies in line with the firm's human resources and business strategies.

ResponsibilitiesAdminister and communicate the company's benefits program regarding plan options, policy features, enrollment, and other requirements for programs including vacation, holiday, time off, sick pay, unemployment, retirement plans, disability, flexible spending, service awards, group health/medical/dental coverage, vendor management, wellness and health education initiatives, and life insurance.Meet with benefits vendors for annual policy review. Negotiate coverage, services, and costs with carriers and brokers.Research plans and survey market data to determine the company’s competitive position in employee benefits.Manage open enrollment including plan setup, communication, employee meetings, employee support, and post-enrollment activities.Manage company leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, personal leave, disability, PFML, etc.Approve, monitor, troubleshoot, and audit employee selections in the benefits admin system for enrollments such as new hire, life event, and terminations.Oversee annual enrollment process, wellness programs, benefits communication, and relationships with external providers. Create communication pieces that inform employees of benefits options.Develop programs designed to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and any proposed changes.Ensure that programs are compliant and current with regard to trends, practices, and costs.Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.Create reports for benefits analysis and/or compliance.Complete weekly and monthly internal payroll reports and fund employee accounts (HSA and 401K).May support HRIS and/or Compensation projects.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBenefits administrationBenefits management5 years of benefits experience, with 2-3 years in managementPlan optionsOpen enrollmentMedical benefits401kCeridianAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent experienceFive (5) years of professional benefits experience with a strong understanding of Federal and State regulations, filing, and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit programsDayforce or similar experienceExperience leading projects and/or benefit programsWork Environment

This position requires working onsite in Torrance three days a week and remotely for two days.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $52.00
