Job purpose
The purpose of the Benefits Specialist is to ensure accuracy of HUB online enrollment platform. This position works as an integral part of the Experience Team and is responsible for data entry, corrections and technology support. They will also function as a primary support to the Account Executive.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for the open enrollment closeout process.Responsible for open enrollment and special enrollment notes update in Benefit Point.Responsible for completion of the post enrollment discrepancy reports.Expert with carrier website enrollment process, rules and eligibility.Expert user in BenAdmin system including employee maintenance, data corrections and generating reports.Answers technology and eligibility inquiries from clients, employees and vendors via phone and email within 5 business hours.Performs research and problem resolution of data issues using multiple systems, tools and resources.Initiates and follows through with Account Executive and/or client on enrollment and eligibility related inquires.Obtain UT Life & Health LicenseMaintains positive relationships both internally and externallyMaintain HUB Values including HIPPA ComplianceEnsures we’re meeting turn-around times and Key Performance Indicators outlined for the roleQualifications
Work experience:
1-2 years working for a carrier or brokerage firm.Education:
High School DiplomaKnowledge and Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical and problem solving abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office – intermediate to expert user level preferred. Excellent organizational skillsAbility to work well under pressure with attention to detailTeam oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize, monitor and control work flow deadlines and be flexibleDetail orientedSense of urgencyUnderstanding of benefits & benefit terminologyProficient typing abilityHigh degree of independence and problem-solving skillsAccurate completion of enrollment/changes which includes follow-up with carriers and teamWorking conditions
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
