Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Benefits Specialist supports the benefits team as well as the CTO/SVP of HR in administrative duties. They are responsible for carrying out the day to day actions of group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance and flexible spending plans). The Benefit Specialist completes the day to day tasks of all of the health and welfare plans, assists employees with any benefit issues, and works on project teams as needed. Essential Functions Coordinates daily benefits processing including but not limited to enrollments, COBRA terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims.Oversees maintenance of employee benefits files and updating of payroll records.Processes monthly billing and payment for all vendors within the department.Assists in the development of benefit communications.Assists in coordinating and executing the open enrollment process.Provides customer service and support to internal and external customers.Maintains good attendance.Maintains safe work practices.Maintains safeguards of confidential company information.Support the CTO/SVP of HR in administrative support activities.Other duties and special projects as requested. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude 2-year Associates degree or above required.Minimum of two (2) years HR/Employee Benefits experience preferred.Proficiency with MS Office requiredQualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:
Bi-lingual (read and write) Spanish preferred.ESOP company experience preferred.Must have strong time management skills and an ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.Comfortable working with both high level and lower-level benefit and projects.Capable of understanding complex plan documents and insurance contracts.
