The Commissioning Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and executing the commissioning process for energy systems, ensuring that all quality, safety, and project standards are met. This role involves developing comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation, as well as managing a team of 4-5 commissioning engineers and technicians throughout the commissioning phase of various projects. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily commissioning activities, conducting on-site acceptance testing, and collaborating with stakeholders to define testing protocols that align with market rules, regulatory requirements, and client contracts.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and safety documentation, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Lead and manage on-site commissioning activities, including testing, progress updates, and daily meetings, while overseeing a team of commissioning engineers and technicians. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols that comply with market rules, regulatory requirements, and client contracts, and participate in client discussions to review testing results and engineering status. Create and maintain professional project documentation, templates, and commissioning reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Support design reviews and provide technical expertise to engineering and estimating teams to facilitate informed project planning and execution. Organize training sessions with manufacturers and third-party trainers to ensure field staff are equipped with the necessary skills, while also mentoring and coaching field managers to enhance their commissioning capabilities. Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and rental vendors to secure the necessary test units and equipment for project needs. Drive continuous improvement by developing problem-solving procedures and capturing technical knowledge to support effective resolution of customer inquiries and operational challenges.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) preferred. Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is highly desirable. A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in a Commissioning Manager role. Proven track record in leading and managing on-site commissioning activities within the renewable energy sector. Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring a team of 4-5 commissioning engineers. Strong background in collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.Pay Equity
$135,000 - $165,000
