Responsible for taking beverage orders and serving complimentary beverages to guests, slot and pit areas. Position requires ability to interact with the public, speak English clearly and remember details. Physical exertion in the way of walking, standing, turning, bending, lifting and carrying is also required. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Work in assigned area, such as a dining room, lounge or casino floor and pleasantly take beverage order from guests. Present the beverage order to the bartender and write checks properly while waiting for the beverage to be prepared. Present check to the guest, accept payment and give change when necessary. Maintain the server’s station in a neat, clean and sanitary condition at all times. Be knowledgeable of casino promotions and events in order to provide answers to customer questions. Inform customers of forthcoming special events and other facilities, such as food service, etc. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment. Attend all necessary meetings. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. Other Responsibilities: Garnish drink orders at service area and deliver drinks to players. Balance trays with drinks weighing up to ten (10) pounds when full, on one hand, while serving with the other hand. Circulate throughout designated station, taking drink orders from customers. Requires ability to remember customers and their drinks. Place drink orders at the service bar. Requires effective communication skills. Reaching/bending between players to serve drinks, collecting empty glasses, and cleaning ashtrays. Keeping service station clean and fully stocked. Walk continuously up and down short stairs or ramps. Must be able to observe when a customer is too intoxicated. Clean up glasses in surrounding area at the end of shift. Position Requirements Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived. Qualifications/Requirements: Must have outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful accommodating disposition. Must adhere to the SGC Shoe policy for all Beverage Cocktail Servers. Education/Experience: Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment. High school diploma or its equivalency preferred. Two (2) years previous customer service experience required. Two (2) years of serving in a bar or restaurant setting required. Bartending experience preferred. Language Skills and Reasoning Ability: Must possess excellent communication skills. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted. Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the casino. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations. Other: Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Non-Gaming license. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. 24 hour work availability is required. Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
