Job Summary:
The Beverage Manager oversees all aspects of beverage operations at La Paloma Country Club, including bars, lounges, banquet services, and the "My Club Wine" program. This individual ensures exceptional service, creative drink offerings, and financial efficiency while maintaining high standards in inventory management, ordering, and staff training. The Beverage Manager is key in delivering an outstanding member and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations of all beverage service areas, ensuring adherence to club standards and member satisfaction.
Develop and maintain innovative beverage menus, including cocktails, premium wines, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options.
Collaborate with the culinary team and events department to align beverage offerings with menus and functions.
My Club Wine Program Management:
Lead and manage the "My Club Wine" program, including curation, inventory management, and invoice tracking.
Organize wine tastings and pairing events to promote the program and engage members.
Ensure proper storage and handling of wine, maintaining quality and inventory accuracy.
Collaborate with vendors and distributors to source exclusive wines for the program at competitive pricing.
Track and manage "My Club Wine" orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate invoices for members.
Inventory Management & Organization:
Maintain accurate inventory of all beverage items, including wine, spirits, beer, and related supplies.
Maintain and manage Bev-Spot.
Conduct regular inventory checks, reconciliations, and variance reports to ensure proper stock levels and minimize waste.
Organize storage areas for easy access, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations.
Ordering & Vendor Relations:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with wine, spirit, and beverage suppliers.
Oversee all beverage-related purchasing, ensuring competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
Review and manage purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Financial Management:
Monitor and analyze beverage and "My Club Wine" program financial performance, ensuring profitability and adherence to budgets.
Develop and implement pricing strategies and promotional initiatives to drive sales and member engagement.
Staff Supervision & Training:
Recruit, train, and manage beverage service staff, ensuring professionalism and expertise in wine and beverage service.
Provide ongoing training programs, including wine education and mixology techniques, to enhance team performance.
Schedule and supervise staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and events.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to alcohol service and storage.
Promote and enforce responsible alcohol service practices among staff.
Member & Guest Relations:
Provide exceptional service to club members and guests, ensuring personalized experiences and addressing any concerns promptly.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the "My Club Wine" program, maintaining strong member relationships.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Beverage Manager, Wine Director, or similar leadership role in a luxury hospitality setting (country club experience preferred).
In-depth knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and beverage service standards.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing inventory, invoicing, and cost controls.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Certification in Responsible Alcohol Service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe) is preferred; sommelier certification is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
