Job Summary

Aspire is a program of Mass General Brigham that serves teens and young adults with social cognition challenges, including Asperger’s Syndrome, High-Cognitive Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, and autism spectrum disorder that focuses on helping teens develop increased self-awareness, social competency, and stress management skills. The Curriculum Coordinator leads activities (i.e., mind/body and self-awareness groups) and works collaboratively with other staff to teach social competency, stress management, and self-awareness activity blocks. The Curriculum Coordinator collaborates to integrate curriculum throughout program activities; and is responsible for providing consultation to utilize the strengths of participants and support their participation in the program. The Curriculum Coordinator responsibilities include leading an all-staff training, weekly curriculum meeting, and coordinating ongoing summer training for program staff. The Curriculum Coordinator works on-site at the program location in Newton and in the community during program outings.


 

Qualifications

1. Lead and/or co-lead all-staff trainings and a pre-program participant and family orientation. 

2. Develop content and lead a weekly staff meeting focused on implementation of program curriculum.  

3. Coordinate ongoing summer training for program staff.  

4. Implement curriculum and lead activity blocks specifically focused on self-awareness and stress management. Work collaboratively with leadership staff to implement social competency curriculum and activity blocks.

5. Attend all staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and planning session as relevant to the role; these are scheduled during assigned staff hours.

6. Maintain the rules of confidentiality and all HIPAA expectations.

7. Collaborate with Aspire leadership staff to problem-solve clinical and programmatic issues. 

8. Assist the staff in addressing and developing individualized plans to support program participants.   

9. Work collaboratively with area agencies that are involved with Aspire during the summer to ensure Aspire's on-going positive relationships with the community, including School Personnel, MGH Staff, Transportation Personnel, Department of Public Health, Community Programs, etc.

Education
