Overview The BI Developer, provides advanced support for Analytics and Report Development. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering business requirements, design, development and maintenance of reporting. Analytics Developers are also responsible for unit testing, assisting business partners with user acceptance testing and providing end-user production support. Analytics Developers are required to understand the table structures, provide adequate issue resolution, and develop complicated reports. Analytics Developers have substantial contact with other company departments as well as outside vendors. Responsibilities What makes you an ideal candidate? Analyze business user needs, document requirements, develop new or modify reports or analysis functionality (dashboards, visualizations) as necessary Create and develop content as needed to support super-user / end-users and demonstrate system functionality Provide production support for standard and ad-hoc reporting to complex query needs of the business using Cognos Analytics and Power BI Collaborate with Project Management Office, development teams, data integration teams (ETL, Data Architect) for providing new data sources for analytics and reporting Communicate with management and business partners on production and project statuses in a timely manner Interface with software vendors and suppliers Work closely with internal business units to facilitate project completion Qualifications Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience required 3-5 years of experience with analytics and reporting systems required Significant experience with Cognos Analytics and Power BI development Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes Ability to write medium to complex SQL queries Cognos Analytics skills including Framework Manager, Data Modules, Author Reports, Author Reports with Multidimensional Data, Author Active Reports, Dashboards, and BI Event Studio Power BI skills including semantic models, reports, and dashboards development using best practices Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practice Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions Significant experience in a large and complex business environment Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups Strong understanding of the SDLC process and project management steps used in delivering IT solutions Strong understanding of Agile Scrum framework What We Offer: Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
