BI Insights Deputy Director
Overview PPD tool is one of the key business enabler to look at Multi country Multi category data in one cube – each clusters being a composition of different markets (70+ markets). At Global Business Intelligence CoE, we enable confident decision making and want to be the Undisputed source for holistic data performance by building cutting edge capabilities embedded into all critical business forums. To achieve this, we’re using and developing contiunuously our Tableau/Power BI platform (PPD - PepsiCo Performances Drivers) leading the IT development alongside of managing the reporting for C-Suite and building stronger capabilities around Shoppers, Connected Stories and Forward activities. PepsiCo business performances are tracked across 50 countries and 4 macro-categories (Snacks, Beverages, Grains & Dairy). Consumer Experience S&T team is at forefront in creating state of art tools in PowerBI platform and being one stop shop of all CX querries/insights. Job Summary The person will be responsible the ‘BI Enablers’ Team as part of the Global Business Intelligence Center of Excellence. And also lead CX S&T team. Therefore, the person should have very strong Business Intelligence, analytical skills and will be managing a team of 12 people. The person should be able to translate the business briefs into accurate IT/platform development plans and will manage platform development accordingly. Alongside of this, the person will be responsible for the Multi-Sources reporting expansion (Household panel, Product preference, Brand preference, CX data feeds…) and will be responsible for the share-out and tracking of the panel quality issues (coverage, product coding, Channels issues solution…). The person will be accountable for the on-time database delivery which means highly connected with Technical Nielsen teams and BIS teams for a timely data ingestion. This person will work closely with CX global team to ensure business needs to taken care. Expect some strong data manipulation on excel, Tableau &/or PowerBI and heavy usage of Nielsen Retail Panel and Kantar/GFK/Ipsos Household Panel. Responsibilities Strategy Development - Design and implement overall BI strategy in alignment and collaboration with business stakeholders. Develop roadmaps for BI initiatives and oversee their execution. Stakeholder Management - Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their strategic requirements and translate those needs into BI solutions and roadmaps. Ensure clear communication and manage expectations regarding BI deliverables based on resources, technology, and time constraints. Budget planning and allocation - Work with leadership and IT partner on annual BI budget planning, ensuring effective allocation of funds. Monitor expenditures and make strategic decisions along with leadership, to optimize BI investments. Lead BI Transformations – Data Transformations – Collaborate with Data Vendor, Tools- Collaborate with IT Lead - Collaborate with data vendors and IT on transformation strategies, schedules, and action plans, ensure follow through on the plans and address obstacles or challenges that may impede the team’s progress. Team Management Manage a team of BI professionals, including developers, backend data strategy experts and project manager. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, provide guidance and support to ensure performance align with business needs. Monitor and evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Work with procurement team on hiring contractor/s for driving business continuity. POCs – Collaborate with IT/Vendors on emerging technologies and methodologies that could benefit stakeholders and the organization. Advocate for the adoption of BI solutions that can benefit BI users. Create Effeciences within CX reporting Ensuring cross learning by ensuring teams are trained on SL Qualifications Post Graduate Degree (MBA Preferred, Statistical background preferred) 13+ years of experience with analytics and developing BI solutions Extensive development experience with visualization platforms (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau etc.) User interface design capabilities supporting high quality visual and functional experience Excellent project management skills esp. with managing supporting teams Advanced Excel skills Strong Analytical bent Programming in Python or JavaScript a plus Expert on “Point of Sale” (Nielsen, Circana, Kantar, SPINs, One Click Retail etc.) databases/metrics a must Structured thinker / problem solver who works independently Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Very strong Team Management skills (experience required in this field and especially in remote team management) Great Collaborator Language: English Fluent Essential: Developper / Data Scientist background Top tier business intelligence / reporting / visualization skills Complete understanding of BI reporting platforms Comfortable with syndicated data analytics (especially Retail Panel) and statistical modeling Solution-oriented approach to problem solving / Creative with “hacking” mind-set Ability to challenge requests in a constructive way that does not damage relationships or slow progress Strong analytical thinking with proven ability to connect data & to digestible representations to generate insights
