The Manager of Scheduling Operations is responsible for the complex oversight and management of both the HMFP and APHMFP physician and CRNA scheduling operations, currently supporting 11 different hospitals and practices for ~300 providers. The manager closely collaborates with physician and administrative leadership for both operations to ensure seamless coordination and efficiency. The Manager is responsible for data analytics and reporting on staffing trends and prepares forecasts to support strategic programs. The Manager is expected to fully participate in Departmental initiatives and committees.

Job Description:

Serves as principal resource for clinical staffing. Identifies and acts on issues that affect the staffing of anesthesia care areas. Provides oversight of the management of all assignment scheduling for clinical staff (300+) ensuring adequate coverage for clinical areas across 11 hospitals and practices, both within the BILH network and outside of network operations. Prepares staffing analysis for strategic planning. Works with clinical leadership to merge assignment scheduling with strategic programs employing clinical staffing best practices. ( Manages faculty and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) time off program. Monitors staffing levels and approves time away. Communicates policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Manages faculty and CRNA incentive program. Analyzes and prepares reports on all activities and, in collaboration with departmental leadership, authorizes additional compensation. Develops updates and implements departmental policies and procedures relative to clinical staffing. Initiates and maintains effective ongoing communication internally and externally to the department. Provides leadership and resources to scheduling support staff. Ensures all schedules meet department staffing commitments. Provides oversight for difficult staffing situations. Delegates responsibilities as indicated. Serves as a training resource to less experienced staff. Anticipates and communicates changes, encourages creativity and provides leadership for the change process. Works with IS team to identify, develop, implement and manage departmental computer applications which are essential to scheduling operations.
