We currently have an opportunity for a Bid Analyst to join our team. Working closely with the Estimators and wider Bid Team, you will support the key executive decision makers in bringing major business development opportunities to fruition. 

The Analyst is a subject matter expert and is responsible for providing expert financial analysis and advice for the establishment and management of complex, strategic commercial tender submissions and plays a critical role in ensuring value for money is achieved and financial risk is effectively managed.

What you’ll do

The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:

Ensure quality and accuracy of the Commercial Bid submission. Coordinate the overall commercial delivery and manage the commercial bid process to ensure submission timelines are achieved and targets accomplished in line with corporate strategy.  Functional responsibility for the financial activities across the Bid team.  Provide commercial, accounting and financial advice and assistance to internal governance. Initiate and lead commercial reviews aimed at lowering cost structures and improving commercial performance. Provide strategic and tactical advice on the likely implications of commercial initiatives and externalities. Financial modelling and analysis for major bids. Arrange/attend site visits at client premises to establish an understanding of the requirements, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents. 

What you’ll bring

The necessary financially modelling, analytical, reporting and communication skills with sufficient industry experience to provide accurate analysis, interpret the scope of works, apply relevant awards and make rational judgements regarding the accuracy of information provided; ensuring tender responses are realistically priced, risk evaluated and financially viable. Successful analytical experience/capability in a similar business environment. Proficient in Excel, the ability to use Macros and Pivot tables would be advantageous. Experience repairing and analysing financial statements including developing P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow statements.
