NORC Field Data Collectors, internally known as field interviewers, play a significant role in collecting the data that drives our research. They conduct in-person interviews to gather survey data for research on subjects including health care, employment, education, and economics. The Ideal Candidate for Field Data Collector Flexible, part-time work (15 – 25 hours a week) Our most successful interviewers typically dedicate 4-6 hours a day to interviewing Self-starter who can manage, organize, and commit to your own work schedule Enjoys meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and professions Available to meet with people in-person at their homes, jobs, or other public spaces to conduct interviews, sometimes without notice to the residents Able to work evenings and weekends when people are more likely to be at home Has field interviewing, canvassing, hospitality, sales, or customer service experience Requirements For Employment: Buscamos entrevistadores bilingues para una encuesta en la comunidad Latino/a/e. High School Diploma or GED Preferred Must be comfortable making contact with participants unannounced and without appointments Must be able and willing to drive in metropolitan or rural areas within a 50–100-mile range Must be able and willing to work a mix of afternoon, evening, and weekends when people are more likely to be at home Must reside within 100 miles of the location displayed in the posting Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and access to reliable transportation Must have basic knowledge of a tablet or laptop computer usage skills such as sending email or opening and using a web browser to search for information. All employees hired for this position must present evidence of their identity and authorization to work in the United States (I-9 documentation). Qualified applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. We regret that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Salary And Benefits:This position is classified as intermittent. The pay rate for this position will be $21.75 per hour, with additional bilingual pay of $1.00 for each hour worked after certification is completed; base pay is based on experience and geographic location.
NORC will contribute to an individually owned, fully vested retirement account for those who meet eligibility requirements. Intermittent staff are eligible to make pre-tax or post-tax contributions as part of NORC’s Supplemental Retirement Plan. The pay range for field interviewers in California is $19.00-$28.81 per hour. The starting rate for field interviewers in California is $19.00/hour. Opportunity to earn more for bilingual speakers. Project will begin training on April 8th, 2025. In-person field work begins once training has been completed, and the project will continue through June 2025. Field data collection is project-based work that ends once the research is complete.
