Requisition Summary
The engineering operations department is seeking a supervisor to manage and lead the bill of material and selection group. This supervisor would manage all aspects of bill of material/selection processing, including but not limited to: work throughput; plant support; and small and medium process improvement projects. This position interfaces with engineering, operations, and change control during Kenworth’s product change management process. Ideal candidates would have a strong leadership background in leading department and division goals.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Develop and manage a high performance team which includes supervising, personnel development, technical lead development, internal and external training programs, prioritizing workload, and tracking progress.
Process engineering change notification work packages in a timely manner, monitor and correct quality issues with a focus on engineering excellence, and improve change control throughput and date commitments.
Ensure complete product coverage is provided using bill of material and selection. Usher critical work package and feedback requests through to completion.
Provide timely (weekly) communication of Engineering Change Notice work package and Bill of Material feedback status, issues, and resolution.
Follow-up and resolve any process-related issues when required.
Train and mentor new associates, ensuring they are provided with the knowledge needed to successfully carry out their tasks.
Manage all aspects of developing and prioritizing projects from concept to closure to meet schedule and performance requirements.
Champion/lead projects using appropriate tools such as six sigma and A3 methodology as documentation.
Identify and implement strategic engineering operations initiatives such as cross division (Peterbilt and Kenworth) ECN work package and BoM feedback process integration.
Estimated travel of 1-2 times per year.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
4-year BS or BA degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
PACCAR manufacturing plant experience desirable.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues.
Ability to collaborate across teams, influence others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
General product knowledge preferred.

The salary range for Bill of Material and Selection Supervisor is $84,000-$131,700 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
