Description
Our client, a distinguished organization in the legal sector, is seeking a proactive Billing Analyst to join their team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in legal billing and a customer service mindset. The Billing Analyst will ensure timely and accurate invoice processing while maintaining compliance with client and firm policies.
Key Responsibilities
+ Process and prepare accurate, detailed client invoices in compliance with client agreements and firm policies.
+ Review invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper application of billable rates, disbursements, and adjustments.
+ Resolve billing discrepancies through research and coordination with attorneys, clients, and internal departments.
+ Assist in maintaining billing guidelines and ensuring compliance with legal industry standards and client-specific requirements.
+ Monitor and track accounts receivable aging to assist in collections efforts.
+ Ensure timely submission and follow-up for e-billing platforms such as Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or similar systems.
+ Generate financial reports and billing analytics for internal and client use as needed.
+ Support audits by providing requested documents and resolving any billing-related inquiries.
+ Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in billing and payment processes.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field preferred. Equivalent work experience is also acceptable.
+ 2+ years of billing and invoicing experience, preferably in a law firm or legal environment.
+ Hands-on experience with legal e-billing platforms is highly desirable.
+ Proficiency in accounting or billing systems (e.g., Aderant, Elite 3E, or other legal billing software).
+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with attorneys, clients, and internal departments.
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
