Astria Health is seeking a Billing and Insurance Follow up Representative to join our team! This position is for our Home Health Department. The shift for this position is Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.- 4:30p.m.

 

The Billing/Insurance Follow-Up Representative is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of medical billing and insurance claim follow-up. This role involves submitting accurate claims, addressing billing discrepancies, and actively following up on unpaid or denied insurance claims. You will:

 

Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and payers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding and billing regulations. Monitor and manage the status of submitted claims, following up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims. Address and resolve issues related to claim denials or delays, including communicating with insurance providers to rectify and resubmit claims. Interact with patients regarding billing questions and provide information on claim status and insurance details.Maintain accurate records of all billing activities and follow-up actions; prepare reports on billing and follow-up metrics.Ensure adherence to healthcare billing regulations, participate in audits, and implement corrective actions as necessary.Work closely with the coding team, healthcare providers, and other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency in billing and follow-up processes.Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.

What you bring to the role:

 

High School Graduate or equivalent.Two or more years’ experience in medical billing, software or claims processing.Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT codes, and healthcare billing practices.Demonstrated proficiency with data entry and software systems.Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsProficiency in healthcare billing software and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesOral and written fluency in the English language.
