Description We are in search of a Billing Clerk to join our team in the non-profit sector located in Newport News, Virginia, United States. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity, where the selected candidate will be responsible for handling customer-related financial matters, including third-party billing and accounts receivable. Responsibilities: • Manage third-party billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Review complex customer accounts to identify and correct any discrepancies. • Work closely with customers to address and resolve any billing errors or disputes. • Maintain a high level of detail-orientation in reviewing and managing accounts. • Utilize accounting skills to ensure financial transactions are processed correctly. • Monitor customer accounts regularly for any unusual activity. • Take appropriate action based on account monitoring outcomes. • Ensure all customer financial records are up-to-date and accurate. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role as a Billing Clerk • Prior experience in the non-profit sector is desirable • Proficiency in using billing software • Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Excellent numerical skills and ability to work with complex billing procedures • Good understanding of financial and accounting principles • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
