The purpose of the Billing & Collections Clerk I is to provide hands-on support to the Billing & Collections Department with preparing and submitting monthly invoices to clients and performing Collections’ tasks. This position requires the ability to work well under pressure, accurately and to meet deadlines. The nature of the work performed will often have “last minute” requirements and/or modifications. Must be able to multitask, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively. Extended hours may be required during a disaster response activation.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure client billing accounts are set up correctly and in accordance with contractual billing requirements, in multiple platforms. Create and distribute invoices to clients in accordance with contract terms. Process credit memos and invoice adjustments. Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to satisfy an internal review and approval process; confirm tasks performed via an invoice checklist. Audit and reconcile invoice supporting backup, as required. Work with the project management team to track and resolve billing issues as they arise. Contact clients for payment resolution, via telephone and/or e-mail, in accordance with our Collections Policy. Request remittance advices from clients for unapplied cash receipts. Ability to turn raw data exports into excel reports. Other assigned tasks as needed.Requirements:
2-3+ years of overall Accounts Receivable experience. Detail oriented with high standards to accuracy. Solid background in Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate knowledge of Excel Good organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 4-year college degree in accounting or finance related field preferred, but not required.
