Billing Specialist
Description We are in search of a Billing Specialist who will play a vital role in our local government team situated in Atlanta, Georgia. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity where you will primarily handle customer billing, maintain accurate records, and address related inquiries. Responsibilities: • Efficiently handle customer billing and ensure accuracy in the process. • Manage and maintain precise records of customer credit. • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve billing-related issues. • Operate computerized billing systems to provide accurate invoicing. • Utilize accounting software systems for efficient data management and record keeping. • Prepare and process claims and cash receipts for billing purposes. • Execute billing procedures for insurance companies, ensuring compliance with set standards. • Utilize EHR System and Epic Software for efficient management of health records. • Manage Accounts Payable tasks diligently. • Respond to inbound calls from customers, providing timely and effective solutions. • Use ADP - Financial Services for tasks related to payroll and benefits administration. • Implement About Time software for efficient time tracking and management. • Perform general accounting functions as and when required. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Billing Specialist or related role in local government or similar industry • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services • Strong knowledge of Computerized Billing, EHR SYSTEM, and Epic Software • Familiarity with the About Time software is necessary • Demonstrated ability to perform Accounting Functions and manage Accounts Payable (AP) • Experience in answering inbound calls and providing customer service • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines • Excellent communication and organizational skills • High attention to detail and accuracy in work • Basic knowledge of local government procedures and regulations related to billing • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
